Strangely, witnessing another's pain can soothe the heart—not out of cruelty, but from a place of shared understanding.
Life has its own complex web of emotions, and pain or suffering often stands out as the brightest thread. Like a river finding the ocean, we are bound to experience life as it happens, with all its ebbs and flows.
So, how can we battle the emotions and dream of utopia? I would say, search for others' pain and make yourself familiar with it before the hurricane invades. Or, if you are already left distraught, then search for barren lands that have been broken badly before.
And when you find them, sit down for a warm cup of cinnamon tea by the makeshift fires and listen to their stories. You are bound to find solace, because now they blossom irises, daffodils, and lilies.
You are wounded; they have been too. You are bleeding; they bled once too. You shed a tear; they did too. They are smiling now, and you can too.
That's the beauty of finding comfort in someone's thorn, someone's pain.
'Cause you know, you are not alone under the tapestry of the sky.
